LOCAL 306 I.A.T.S.E.

Local 306 was chartered in 1913 as a Local Union of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, founded in 1893.

With over 100 years of experience, the Traditional department has been the preeminent source of skilled projectionists and audio/visual technicians for venues that include museums, convention centers, Broadway theaters, opera houses, dance centers, regional theaters, seasonal outdoor amphitheaters, arenas, concert halls, and stadiums.

In 1942 Local B183 was the stand alone Theatrical Union on Broadway. In 2000 Local B183 and Local 306 merged. The Theatrical department of Local 306 represents Stagedoor personnel , as well as Ticket Takers, Head Ushers, Directors and Ushers, which comprises the Front-Of-House staff.

Stagedoor helps to ensure a safe and secure environment for performers, stage crew and guests by monitoring who enters and exits the theater. The many functions of Front-Of-House staff includes scanning tickets, assisting patrons to their assigned seats, and assisting patrons with locating theater amenities, as well as liaison with theater managers to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience by providing the best customer service possible before, during and after the show.

The Traditional and Theatrical departments of Local 306 have a rich history of providing New York City with a highly skilled and dedicated workforce that continues to evolve with the demands of the industry as well as the needs of the greatest venues in the most famous city in the world.
